Richard Avedon Expansion

For my series project I wanted to work with Richard Avedon's style which we worked with earlier in the year. For this photo set my goal was to capture the some form of emotion in each photo. I tried to capture emotion in the photos by conversing with the model and asking her to reflect on certain ideas. I also tried to experiment with photographing the model out of the frame in some of the photos.

  1. I really like these pictures! My favorite picture is the fourth one, because you really captured happiness. I liked how you tried all sorts of different poses that give different feelings. Good job!

  2. All of your photos are very strong. You did a good job portraying avedons style. My favorite is the first one because of how you cropped it. Maybe next time just work with more than one subject. good job

  5. I really like how you added your own elements to the Richard Avedon-inspired portraits. Shooting the model out of the frame gives the pictures a more genuine and honest feel. I suggest cropping your pictures into squares, because it will attract more attention to the subject and add symmetry to your pictures.
